MacMillan Cancer Care
As usual at this time of year I spend the morning as a waitress at a MacMillan Coffee Morning. The HG greets guests and is parking attendant.
It was great; we had a raffle, and an auction, tea, coffee, scones, pancakes, and all kinds of cakes of course. And a 'shop' selling all sorts of crafts and other things. We also had two entertainers with guitars, and they had us singing along.
Our local MSP, Linda Fabiani, always attends, and Gordon our minister. Lots of country dancers too, we did think of doing a turn of Marigold but thought it might be too much for our guests.
Patricia and Jim put a lot of effort into this charity fund raising morning in their home every year and I am privileged to be one of the helpers. I hope we raise a lot this year, and perhaps beat last year's total!
Mixed bag of weather today; I met Maeve for lunch at Hunter House and it was coming down in torrents at the time, but after lunch we walked in bright sunshine. Typical autumn weather, I think.
Update: We made over £2,000, and money still coming in......
