Flock of Humans

What is going on in the photo?

Several of my fellow students are going about the usual before school routine. Many gather in the main hall, while others move about the rest of the school. They typically group together with their peers in spots that they have "claimed".

How is it related to a specific psychology concept from the current unit or previous units?

They have each found their own group to be a part of. No one told them to get into groups, nor do they often leave their group in favor of another. What is being done is conformity. When in their groups they will conform to the general behavior of the group in order to remain a part of the group. It isn't a complete override of that person's personality. Each person typically finds a group of like-minded individuals to be with.

Link the image to one of the perspectives of psychology with an explanation of how it relates.

The image show behaviorism the most. The students were not told, nor trained, or persuaded to group together. They did so because that is what they do.
