Meet Sidney from Epsom, the seasoned Canal boat traveller who, with his owner are now at Norbury Junction, Staffordshire after  spending the summer cruising the canals on their narrowboat.    

 

I enjoyed a much needed luxury pedicure this morning, picked up a dressmaking pattern from Victoria this afternoon and after I’d got most of the post-holiday jobs done I did a bit of specialist food shop in Newport (posh supermarket)  and then took myself off  for a walk along the towpath of the Shropshire Union Canal at Norbury Junction where it was very cool and breezy, nothing like what I’d been used to over the past week and I regretted wearing post-holiday mode long shorts and flip flops.  I got talking to Sidney’s owner who told me that now Autumn has arrived he and Sidney would be wending their way home very shortly – by car.
