Interest piqued

Yesterday my youngest sister asked me whether I still had the baby mug given to me by a late family friend many many years ago.
My first reaction: "I have no recollection of such"
My good wife immediately said that she had had it in safe keeping for as long as she could remember, and produced the item. It had been specially made and personalised in 1954.

Linn Ware was produced during the 1940/50's by Ceramic Studio, part of the Cullinan Refractories Group at the time. A number of artists were retained by the company to produce 'artistic pottery', much of which is apparently highly valued by collectors. The studio closed around 1955.

On checking some of the other ceramic items we inherited from the friends on their passing, we have found a few other pieces of Linn Ware.

We will continue looking into it.
