The great race

Each year Bathurst doubles in size when V8 fans descend on our town for the Supercars race around Mt Panorama. People arrive weeks before the race to get the best spots to camp. Last weekend we saw a tent city (400) tents being erected on a playing field. 2 days later they needed to be moved due to the swampy conditions.

Many locals leave at this time of the year but I don't really mind as it adds a bit of colour. It must be good for business.

This picture is of a Ford. The rivals are Holdens. The town is covered in blue/red and checkered flags and bunting, depending on which camp you come from.
