Whew full ....
Well all that produce that was in Mr A's shopping bags yesterdayis now in our stomachs and I am full!! What a great meal we had with our neighbours (2km away) who have lived in France for over 30 years... and are British and who we believe set a great precedent for the British like us who have come to live here subsequently (and we have been here for nearly 20 years on and off)... We had a five hour lunch.. now that is very French... mushroom and garlic on puff pastry to start with chard and Keralan Amaranthus... then tomatoes marinated in walnut oil for a palate cleanser! and then chicken in garlic (I am mostly vegetarian but make a few exceptions when in France) with mash and beans of course.. from the garden.. then a goats cheese roll with salad then apricot and almond tart... like a clafoutis ... all home made... the pastry and everything..(all cooked by Mr A) and I thought I would take a pic of the debris but Mr A has been clearing up as we go so it is not too bad at all.. I did a bit of clearing as well just in case you wonder what does this woman do?!!! We had lots of great chat.. about the internet and apps that can help us and the kindle.. Our neighbour P has had terrible problems with his hips as he has had about 8 hip replacements.. too many for sure!! and is now struggling to walk so it was a huge pleasure to just give them time to relax and sit still and enjoy ... and I think they did... and we did... they are very special and we feel very blessed with them being our neighbours and next week it is P's birthday 81 I think so yet another celebration.. oh what a tough life.. no work for the rest of the day.. but the Olympics 5000 m.. .. we will be rooting for Mo.... now that is someone who can move.. strange life with us all in very different stages...
Thank you for all the stars and FAV's for yesterdays blip.. it got my blip into spotlight.. which was amazing .. thanks to all of you .. I really value being a part of this very special community and I treasure your support...
