What a day

The Berlin marathon was certainly an unforgettable experience. The one thing I hadn't bargained for was the heat which took its toll. I had far more drink stops than usual and also took advantage of the water showers provided by the Berlin Fire Brigade got absolutely soaked!!.
I have pictured myself running through the Brandenberg Gate for some time and as I did so I thought of all the history and raised my arms in the air, the official photographer got a fantastic picture of me. I crossed the line in 4.34.50 and when I was presented with the magnificent medal felt the emotion of the moment. I love Berlin and can't believe I have been so privileged to have taken part in one of the world's best marathons. The picture is the Victory Column which we ran past at the start.
