Puzzling

Rick took this photo of Sebastien putting his puzzles together. He came back from Preschool Bound class singing the songs from class and then took all his puzzles out and did them all (they did puzzles in class).

When I took him into the class, he was okay, but he saw two other kids crying and then he started tearing up. I asked him if he was crying and he said," yeah." Then I asked if he needed a hug. He said "yeah," through his tears,  so I gave him a big one. And then I asked him if he'd be okay when I left. He said, "yeah" again, so forcefully, it sounded like he was trying to convince himself. Made it so hard to leave. The teacher said he stopped crying right away, though, and did fine the rest of the two hours. He did ask for another big hug when I got back, though, and we talked about what being brave was and how I was proud of him. Growing up is hard.
