Golden glow...
After a very long and hot day surveying trees, we walked down the hill to be greeted by the golden evening sunlight filtering through the parkland oaks. The evenings are certainly the best time at Chatsworth with wonderful views across the estate, enlivened by the sight of herds of deer grazing peacefully.
We had carried on working for as long as there was enough light for photography of the trees, but eventually the call of the pub was too great. Spending such a long ime out in hot sunshine may have made us all a little delirious, and a certain level of hysteria set in after lunch, when, after a misunderstanding about what we were doing, Alex and I ended up holding hands for several seconds!
