Digital Art
The Boss attended a webinar a week ago presented by Harold Davis a professional tutor in digital art.
Digital Art is very alive and well but not everyone believes that a lens can be used as a paint brush and you still see the SOOC (Straight out of Camera) comment far to often from folk that have forgotten that every digital camera only works because it has a computer in it generating the image you see and fully adjustable to almost any outcome, the inference being that post shutter “fiddling” is a bad and unnatural thing as apposed to what ever the camera may be doing.
This is a lovely hangover from film days and was not even true then as the greatest works from Ansel Adams were the result of very skilled darkroom “fiddling”
Anyway asyoukno (Oh new word) The Boss loves fiddling and after the webinar he was even more empowered to play and here is his effort from that this morning made possible by the sun shining through the lounge window.
The original was shot in a “Lightbox” which is a fabric box that creates an almost shadowless environment, from Daffs that were growing in a pot in our barkyard and this took a loooong time and the selected result of that was painted in Lightroom and additionally painted further using Topaz add ons. He finally took me out at 4.00 pm. Disgusting.
