what a day we had . . .
Catching up on my blipfoto journal, what a beautiful day we had Saturday. We were scheduled to go sailing, but alas, there was no wind. We did not feel like baking in the sun and struggling to tack back while the tide was going against us, so we bailed out. A few hearty souls did go & even enjoyed! We decided instead to take our small skiff we call Nibbs, that Steven uses daily and motor along the Braden & Manatee Rivers. That way, we could catch a breeze while we zoom - around 19 mph! :0)
It was beautiful. There is not a lot of development near where we live and lots of nature to take in, even with the power lines you see above (I like how the lines look here). We went up all the way to where they are building a new bridge across the Manatee River and we were gone about 2 hours. We saw kids in rowing sculls, learning how to navigate the river . . . oh! I have a number of photos in a Google Album HERE. They start with us leaving our dock, stopping by the bay at Lucas Boatworks, lots of clouds & water, the bridge construction, more boats (Stan's handmade) and back home. So much fun! Come along with us . . .
