One among thousands.....!

What an amazing experience I have had! It was incredible to be among so many people all walking together to raise funds for the same great cause. The atmosphere was terrific! And I was supported by my faithful walking friend, and even D decided to join in. The evening was so mild too!

We had opted to be 'striders' and managed the 13.1 miles in just under 5 hours. The route took us from Southwark Park to Billingsgate Market, past many well known landmarks and all the way we were encouraged by cheery marshals, car horns, flag waving members of the public  and regular pitstops. Each mile was posted and we walked the red carpet at the finish to receive our medals at just after 1a.m! Not bad me thinks. 

And wonderfully, Alison's husband met us to bring us home. What a man! 

Sore feet, knees a bit knocky....but very happy to have DONE IT!!
