Old dog, old tricks....
To say it was a miserable day in our little corner of Cumbria today would be an understatement - still at least it spurred me on to get the builder organised to start the flood defence work!
I've now finished my first two hour presentation for this week's event - one more to do and I can relax. We've managed to sell out the National Mountain Centre at Plas y Brenin, organising, hosting and presenting is, I've concluded, too much for one person and I'll be telling our Management Committee as much. Not sure which of the three I want to drop though....
I took pooch for a walk at lunchtime as the rain had slowed to a steady drizzle between its bouts of torrential. Despite her advanced years she loves the w-a-l-k word, we just need to mooch along slowly - though it does seem easier for her to run and stop then run and stop rather than walk - I guess it's something to do with how a dog's anatomy works. As we ambled past the Liberal Club which is being renovated there was a sudden pounce into action - one of the workmen had dropped some sort of cake - fair game for a very pleased with herself husky. As she often does now with treats and the things she finds P carried it all the way home until she could slink off to the centre of the lawn and enjoy her bounty in pleasure whilst I went back to the computer screen.
