Patterned Wings

Because of their rapid and erratic movements, there's a lot of luck involved in shooting hummingbirds. I just set my camera on rapid fire and blast away. It's not an elegant technique, but if I shoot enough photos I usually get a few that I like.

This one was chosen because flower shadows on the backlit wings made it unique. I'm grateful to Cynthia for drawing my attention to it.
