Ship ahoy

Sunshine on Ullswater. The little blue boats catch a shaft of sun in a rare moment this morning. Wandered into Glenridding for a newspaper and got soaked. What a mess that little village is. 'Glenridding's flocking great' signs adorn the closed hotel.

No it isn't! The beck side is cluttered with debris, machinery and traffic signs. The road to the lake is through a flood prevention site, waste material from the floods is piled in fields around. All so very sad as Storm Desmond approaches its first anniversary. A lost season for the locals and no obvious signs of a quick recovery.
