Historic fortress

We took a day trip to the island of Vaxholm, historic capital of the Stockholm archipelago. The old fortress is on a separate island, a short ferry ride away. The fortress makes a feature of old armaments, with a collection of mines in the cafe garden and piles of cannon balls everywhere.
