Doors Open Day

Doors Open Day provides a great opportunity to visit buildings in Edinburgh you normally don't get to access at all, are occasionally open or only accessible on days like this.

This is the Playfair Library Hall in the Old College of Edinburgh University which is an amazing space. I'm afraid I never took a note of who the whiskered old professor was.

The extra picture is from the threatened-with-closure Fire Service Museum at Lauriston. This museum is housed in a magnificent old fire station which has recently been sold for conversion into flats much to the consternation of thousands of local residents.
