One happy visitor!

Today the menfolk went off to Alton Towers, whilst we girlies went out for a jolly around the area.

I wanted to show Allison our beautiful countryside, so took her for a drive around, calling in at the farm for coffee. The Hanbury Crater came up in conversation so i decided we should take a trip over there.

We parked in the car park of The Cock Inn, the pub nearest to it now as it was then ( in 1944 when the explosion happened ) where there are copies of the newspaper reports of it from that time. After a walk to the memorial and back, we made our way home, to change into clothes that were more appropriate for horse riding.

My friend Helen's house is one the way to the stables so we made a flying visit there for tea and scones!

Allison enjoyed her ride on Carlos, despite his reluctance on the way out - he was much quicker on the way back!

Now we're all reunited, showered and about to go out to dinner ( cannot believe I'm leaving the house whilst Strictly's on! ).
