Monet's Mallard
This drake was paddling along the nearly-dried-out McKenzie Marsh in Aurora. There is still a bit of water but the drought has been harsh. I have not seen a turtle in a long while. There were a handful of ducks and gulls, two great blue herons, several killdeer, and one or two sandpipers poking around the mud and puddles. I love the colour and impressionistic style of this photograph.
See the Extra Photos area for a misty morning over the marsh.
