San Gimignano

Yet another mountain village... this one taken from a distance as we headed to Volterra.

It was about 5 miles away so needed a little bit of post processing! 

We had initially planned a visit to San Gimignano but it supposedly gets overwhelmed by tourists (like us!) so we opted for Volterra instead. A good choice as Volterra was pretty impressive and relatively quiet too... plus we got the bonus of this view of San Gig on the way.

I think we have had our fill of hilltop villages though... beautiful as they are, one is starting to blend into the other.

So it is back to Siena for more tennis followed by beer, wine and pasta on our last day in Tuscany.
