Curlew(Numenius arquata)

From one long beaked bird to another, this Curlew was at a new lagoon that has been produced on Wadi land reaching out to the sea, this beautiful bird was showing me how it drinks with such a large proboscis! I presume that the water it was drinking was fresh water, although it is right on the sand flats. Lots of birds were around so I presume also that it had fish, worms and crustaceans, I shall keep my eye on it. Sadly the Wadi further up was completely dry, so unless it rains there is not a suitable habitat for a Kingfisher at this location anymore.
