Dad has another date for his heart operation in a week’s time. They just need to sort out looking after Kilda. Hopefully it will go ahead this time. Left the hotel and headed to the Griffiths Observatory to take a photo of the Hollywood sign. From there it was over to Bob Hope airport to get JA on the car hire so we don’t have to do all the driving before heading to Sequoia. Stopped off at Bakersfield for lunch and a driver change. JA took us the rest of the way to the hotel / lodge. Fantastic scenery once we got into the national park with very windy narrow roads and our huge car. Lodge is OK but reminds me of a posh Youth Hostel. Had to sign some wavers to say we understand the risk of bear and how to react if we should see one. I’m more worried about the rattlesnakes.
