Bordeaux

Our friends Fiona & John flew in at 2.30, but our other guest, Maureen was to arrive at 6.30pm, so we went to the park & ride and got the tram into the centre ville and visited the mirroir d'eau, between the Bourse and the river.
Here you can see John, Fiona and Jill (who met today for the first time) standing by the mirroir d'eau while the water is ankle deep. It then drained away to become the mirror-like surface which reflects the buildings behind, and then cool steam comes out for a while, about three feet deep,all on a half hour cycle.
It's endlessly fascinating for small children who love to play in it when the weather is hot like today.
