Amboise

We went on a day trip to Amboise today. It was rather nice - we saw two chateaus. The first was the Chateau royale which was high above the town and had great big walls. It had a rather nice chapel perched on the edge (Leonardo da Vinci is buried inside). It's apparently dedicated to the Saint related to hunting.

We then went to Chateau du Close Lucé where Leonardo da Vinci lived and they'd recreated some of his inventions in the garden. All very impressive - he was ahead of his time (perhaps an understatement). 

Went for a nice walk on the island which is part of the town before having pizza looking up at the walls of the chateau royale. Rather nice Sunday really.
