A Day of Letters
It's weird what artists get asked to do as favours. Today's involved painting these big wooden jobbies on the left, pink, to go around a Christening cake. On the plus side we're invited to the knees up afterwards... at least I think that's a plus?
No prizes for figuring out what the little one's name is.
Yes, Savannah. (Middle name -Leigh)
Call me old fashioned but that just brings me images for those women in something like Gone with the Wind.
Names are so evocative aren't they?
I heard a little boy shouting at his mate to hurry up yesterday - Sienna.
I had to smile.
As an artist - Sienna is a colour, comes in Raw and Burnt varieties.
I had this little scenario going on in my head where these lads were playing footy. Sienna in goal, Raw Umber attacking, Terra Verte on the wing - and Yellow Ochre in defense.
(Shakes her head)
As a teacher of thirty years I came across a huge variety of names...
Daftest one? Poor daughter of a motor bike fanatic - called his lass Z13
No word of a lie.
Z13
I rest my case.
On the right is where I was practising my script writing for that project that I am trying not to mention too much :-)
