Beetroot - boiled no vinegar !

When I was a lad I worked in a fruit and veg shop  Saturday . My first job was to get an old boiler started and boil the beetroot . I hated the smell .....( although it wasn't as bad as rotten potatoes that had to be sorted out of the sacks . urggghhh)
Now I love boiled beetroot - so I boiled this for the salad part of our film night meal !!!
