The one with the Bishops

Kobe diocese is celebrating its 140th anniversary tomorrow so this evening there was a special dinner.

I'm not sure what the collective noun for a group of Bishops is but there were plenty of them in the restaurant this evening. From all across Japan and as far afield as Korea and Hong Kong - there was A LOT of purple in the room!

We enjoyed a wonderful Chinese banquet (much to the disappointment of the Bishop from HK!) accompanied by this very special autumn beer. And boy, can Bishops drink! In true Japanese tradition there were gifts to take away too - one of which was a purple t-shirt!!
