Fire Escape

I have long been fascinated by the fire escape attached to this wonderful old building at the Hydro Majestic Hotel. Seemingly unsupported by little other than thin air, it sort of sticks out into open space above the Megalong Valley far below. It would appear that the experience of escaping a fire might be just about as hair raising as the actual fire and flames within.

This shot was hardly representative of how the day mostly looked. It was grey, rainy, windy and miserable for much of the time but it came to look quite inviting by this stage
