Highland Hills and Loch Ewe

Our last day in Scotland and it was a trip to my favourite beach - Mellon Udrigle that was to end our "Highland fling!" 

As we drove around to the beach we passed the usual spot where the seals seek out various rocks to haul out onto to sunbathe. We drove further on to Poolewe, to have coffee and cake in a great little cafe/gallery - The Bridge Cafe.

We sat by Loch Ewe watching the bird life before driving back to wander along the beach. This photo was taken on this route back just outside Poolewe lokking over the hills and Loch Ewe.

The extra is a shot of the swish new Stornaway ferry which visits Ullapool twice a day.
