A good end to the day

An early start to meet up with the Board of The British Association of International Mountain Leaders at the Montane showroom in Staveley.

We were having a Board meeting, and I can now announce, shaking hands on Montane becoming our brand partners - we're all really hopeful it's the start of a great partnership - I'm such a fan of Montane's kit that I almost felt I should declare a conflict of interest! Montane in turn are super excited about the content our members can generate for them - sounds like a win win :)

Our Board meetings are now getting productive after the initial evolutionary pains, some directors have resigned, some have changed their approach to their roles- and I can see us becoming a team - exactly the skills I offered when I volunteered as Chair. To be honest I've doubted taking on this role a lot, it's been toxic in the past and I'd be naiaive to think it doesn't have the potential to impact my professional reputation - so seeing us reach key staging points is both rewarding and a relief - I've said from the start that I wanted to set the ship straight, put in place transparent equitable processes and then, having done my bit, step down and go play in the hills - today I got the first glimpse that that's an achievable goal.

Frankly the Montane showroom (& my colleagues lol) whilst lovely didn't make for much of a blip. I got home just in time to kiss Mrs IttH fairwell as she headed out to her first committee meeting for the Art Club - but looking out the window I could see the grey clouds pierced by fantastic low light - so I shot back out to the Scar and sat for a while, reflected on the day and settled on this shot for blip.
