This lad was waiting to start his first shift on one of the fishing boats — 36 hours at sea doing a job he didn't know with people he'd hardly met. 

He'd arrived nearly two hours early and was a bundle of anxiety. His thumping heart and churning stomach seemed amplified on such a still, tranquil morning.

I wonder how he's doing.
