Underground water
You were thinking I wouldn't find another kind of water to round out the 7, weren't you (oh, it was just me then). Well I slipped into the cathedral this morning after the chaps had gone for their Sunday roast thinking I might take a pic of the flooded crypt from the viewing platform, but somehow that was a bit dull, it's been done so many times before.
So, instead you have an image of the floor tiles at the sunken east end where 100 years ago the building nearly collapsed into the water table it's built on. I read that the tiles may constitute the finest existing medieval floor in the country, worn and water wrinkled though they are. And to place them in context I've added a layer showing the choir (taken from the east end) and the roof of the nave beyond.
So that's the end of 'water week' for me. It's been surprisingly challenging but fun and thanks to all of you who've followed the little journey and been so kind about it.
Tomorrow it's back to doss shots.
Enjoy the remainder of your weekend xx
