Old Montpellier

Montpellier, in the Languedoc, is an old medieval town with a prestigious university. It is also a vibrant, modern community in this part of France.
I spent the day here as I came to meet Scot friends of mine, who now live near Carcassonne by the foothills of the Pyrenees.
So, before I met them, I walked through its narrow streets in the heart of the old city.
