The Mighty Wurlitzer

Doors Open Weekend in Glasgow. I went along to Pollokshaws Burgh Hall for two concerts.

The first, musicians from the University of Glasgow. Singer Anna Heywood was outstanding, with two pieces from Phantom of the Opera.

The second, Aaron Hawthorne playing and talking about the Wurlitzer cinema organ. It is the only instrument of its kind in Scotland. Colours constantly changing, so many noises - percussion instruments, car horns, train sounds. Quite an experience to hear it played. A very appreciative audience.
