Varvisaari

Today I visited Varvisaari, an island located next to the island (and a wealthy residential area) of Rönö. You can access there from Rönö via a pedestrian bridge. There are several houses in the island. Some are lucky enough to live in such a gorgeous environment less than 3 kilometres from downtown. Luckily some areas of the island have been spared from building.

The nature of the island is unusually lush for this part of the country. You are more likely to see this kind of forest in South coast of Finland but even there it's quite rare. This picture could as well have been taken somewhere in Central Europe.
