Spent the day shifting cattle around. First off brought the 15 Angus x saler bulling heifers in for their 2nd BVD vaccine jag. Was feeling quite pleased with my self as managed with a bag of feeding and the collie dog to get them over the bridge at the quarry conveyor and onto the road no bother . However 2 decided they preferred the field and went over the fence. Had to bring a field of cows and calves onto the road to attract them back.
After lunch went down the road to bring the other 12 bulling hefs home. Got 11 in and found the missing one over the fence with the cows and calves. And one of the cows had calved since yesterday. Will need to bring her home too.
Passed the neighbour out with the combine on the way back so decided to make a start on some barley as the oats still soaking wet . Managed to choke the drum on the 2nd bout so that took half an hour to unblock.
Wee brother took over at tea time but the barley at 20% moisture, not ideal. Had to stop as the dampness came down about 8pm. At least it's a start.
