Bowood 2016 #32 (Thursday 15th September 2016)
Although it was warm and muggy, the light in the late afternoon was dull and uninspiring and I had the least eventful 45 minute footpath walk so far up to Bowood Lake from the lodge house at Mile Elm.
I didn't see any deer, buzzards, kites, herons or even the Canada geese, just some grouse and sheep. This lake view will be familiar to regular journal visitors and includes the pair of swans that have a family of cygnets.
The swans had just swum out from the leg of the lake to the left of the picture. I saw two of the cygnets just emerging behind them but don't know how many others there are now.
