Weary Willie

I found a box of my daughters old dolls and composed this frightening image.  The Emmett Kelly head is from a doll my aunt gave me when I was 3-years old.   Our dog chewed the body up. Today, I just have the rubber head left.  When I was little, it scared the hell out me so much it made me shiver.

Emmett Kelly, Jr. was born to a circus family on the closing-day performance of the John Robinson Circus.   His father was the original clown/mime "Weary Willie".  Emmett grow up in the circus and followed his father's large, floppy rubber footsteps.  In every performance, Emmett presented the famous "Sweeping the Spotlight" routine which has become a pantomime classic.
