Giant Swallowtail

Well, its been a while since I posted a blip - I am always on the lookout for something I deem interesting enough to put up and this morning I was greeted by a visitor in our garden that was too good to miss.  Out came the zoom lens and I was rather pleased with the result - I seem to have a penchant for insect photography - I can't get over the detailed beauty that becomes apparent when they are captured close up.  This one didn't stop flapping its wings the whole time so the sunny day allowed a fast shutter time and thus the captured beauty.

Otherwise a normal day but glad to have something good to blip for a change!
