I saw the lamplight from your window

Whilst we haven't been blessed with the heat wave you are enduring down south; it has been pleasantly / uncomfortably warm.

It was still warm enough while I walked up to the shop to get milk for me to walk in sleeves.

It was only 830 but it was pitch black and the lights were twinkling from inside houses where families were settling down for the night.

When we were wee, we were never out in the streets at this time; twilight was home time... And home time extended in the summer, contracted in the winter... But the only time playtime outside would happen in the dark was halloween.

Me? Am Obsessed with windows lit in the twilight. I could wander all over gazing in. I still remember when we lived in Glasgow and we would walk from Kelvindale to Byres Road with me behind Himself, all the way along Hyndland road, hand in his back pocket to guide me so that i could gaze unrestricted by my need to stare to the side rather than straight ahead.

The joy I had one night when invited in to one of the houses and i could touch and feel all the lovely things i had previously only lusted at from the street .
