Orange peel fungus

Apparently that's what it's called - it's certainly what I thought this was, at first, when I saw it lying near a path in Benmore Gardens this afternoon. Not a fungus I've seen before, but rather a glamorous one sitting there on a pale grey afternoon with not a breath of wind and the birdsong sounding as if it were in a jungle as it reverberated among the trees.
