Bush Tucker

This is a witchetty grub, the wood-eating larvae of a moth. 
At about 3cm it is quite a small one. They can grow to 12cm.
This is worth viewing in large for a bit more detail.

It is a staple food of aboriginal Australians and it is said "the raw witchetty grub tastes like almonds and when cooked the skin becomes crisp like roast chicken while the inside becomes light yellow, like a fried egg".

I'll take their word for that. 
Mind you, I l like oysters, octopus and snails so I guess it's all in the mind really.
