Winding a new warp
On to a new project. This one is approximately 7 1/2 yards (7 meters) long and will result in 7 kitchen towels each approximately 20 inches (50.8 centimeters) wide by 30 inches (76.2 centimeters) long. The first one is woven in plain weave with the striping sequence the same as it is in the warp. The other six are woven with a 2/2 twill and varying the striping sequence. I am using 2/8 Cotolin, which is a blend of 60% cotton and 40% linen. The warp repeats two more times in the same sequence shown here, ending with a wide white stripe on the opposite side. So, I have about one third of the warp wound. It will have a total of 504 warp threads.
