Nostalgia

Last minute Blip again - raid the display cabinet, remove some dust, and photograph glass!
When I began my apprenticeship in September 1957 the only thing I was allowed to do in the dispensary for the first 3 months was dust shelves full of bottles and jars like this. These are the only three I have now - two are genuine old bottles - with genuine old content too (no batch numbers and use by dates then - but the genuine Essence of Peppermint and Lavender Oil still smell fine.)  The bottle on the left is a modern reproduction - well fairly modern, about 30 years ago - it is cranberry coloured glass which was not a normal colour, old bottles were white, green, blue or brown.
