Red Squirrel
We were orienteering at Ainsdale Dunes in the national Nature reserve. Let’s just say that it was wet, and we had to completely change when we got back. The good thing was it was mild and our shoes were very clean at the end. We decided to to the National Trust reserve at Formby to see Red Squirrels. Armed with monkey nuts we set off and must have seen at least 6 different ones. This was the most confiding and took our offerings of nuts. It was very dark in the trees and to get any half decent shutter speed I had to use an ISO of 12800 and use a low fence on which to rest the lens. The shot isn’t as crisp as I would like but that’s life. Better a noisy blip of our native Squirrel than none at all.
