buzzard !

I know, not the best shot and heavily cropped, but such a moment of excitement ... 
Buzzards were common in Devon where we lived before and they were a familiar and joyful sight. Here in West Cork there were none. But in recent years, since the appalling practise of poisoning the lands with strychnine was stopped,  buzzards have been gradually working their way westwards and I had heard that they are breeding now as far west as Bantry. 
This was the first one we have seen in many years.
