Scourge of the countryside

Himalayan or Nepalese Balsam, I've heard it called by both names, is steadily spreading along the river bank and in some places it is well away from the water. The flower is admittedly attractive and this is why the plants were imported years ago. The seed pods eventually fall and are spread when the river floods.
