ARTIST AT WORK

A grand day out with Maurice today after a frightening start. We set off for a fav café at the Steam and Moorland Garden Centre . . . which would score 7/7 as an entry into Riversider’s Guide to Tearooms and Cafes . . . however we were turned away at 9.15 as the kitchen has been destroyed due to a fire at 08.00. Fire crews attended from Kirkbymoorside, Pickering, Malton and Scarborough. So sad . . . no more scones here for a while – but at least nobody was hurt.
What to do now . . . well we dropped into Pickering, had a street coffee and scone watching the world go by and then headed to the Station. Blips today show one of a group of artists working hard in the hot sun and an extra of a  coach collecting steam from the engine of the 11.00 train to Grosmont.
