A Delectable, Memorable Day
That's Strangely, an engaging performer from the Bellingham Circus Guild, making it clear who he wanted as the final volunteer for the impromptu bell choir he pulled together at the Wednesday Farmers Market in Fairhaven.
That was just one of a series of delightful moments today as I introduced my cousin L to some of my favorite things in the Fairhaven neighborhood, beginning with a good look around at Village Books. We're both book lovers and could have spent the entire morning there, but soldiered on to Avenue Bread, where we enjoyed mid-morning lattes and a shared raspberry and white chocolate scone.
After a leisurely stroll around the Wednesday Farmers Market and the purchase of two pints of fresh local raspberries, among other items for supper, we increased our mileage by walking along the Taylor Dock boardwalk to Boulevard Park, then returned to Fairhaven. We enjoyed a leisurely afternoon tea at Abbey Tea Garden, including very indulgent desserts.
L's husband, B, made a big batch (Phil's blip) of delicious lentil soup for supper, followed by local vanilla ice cream and those two pints of raspberries, all enhanced by the far-ranging and interesting conversations that have been a hallmark of B's and L's visit.
