Our Resident Chef
He's only temporary -- it's our visitor, B. He made us a delicious lentil stew for dinner tonight.
He and I had a busy day together today while Cynthia and L went their own way, doing things that we wouldn't have enjoyed nearly as much.
B had never played pickleball, but was eager to try it, so I took him to my regular Wednesday morning session and introduced him to the group. Like most tennis players, he became quite proficient at the game very quickly. He was having such a good time that he didn't want to leave until the last players left.
After a quick tour of the ReStore, we went to Elizabeth Station for beer and some food. The menu didn't appeal to us, but we had a pint of the New Belgium Tart Lychee before moving on Kulshan Brewing, where we enjoyed huge burritos from the taco truck parked outside. B washed his down with a schooner of pale ale. As designated driver, I just drank water. We tasted the Cascade Dark Ale and judged it good enough to accompany B's lentil stew, so we brought home a growler of it.
The last stop on our way home was the Food Co-op, to get a couple of grocery items and a few more bottles of beer for B to sample.
It was a very good day.
